Free Life Insurance Policy Review for Utah Families

Find out if the coverage you have still fits your family, your budget, and your plans. No cost, no pressure.

Quick answer

A policy review is a free check-up on the life insurance you already own. I look at how much coverage you have, what it costs, who it pays, and whether it's on track, then explain what I find in plain English. Sometimes the right answer is to keep exactly what you have.

Why a review matters

  • Only 46% of life insurance owners are confident their coverage is enough for the people who depend on them.

Source: National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) consumer survey, 2021.

  • 55% of U.S. workers have life insurance through work, and the median basic coverage is $20,000 or one year of salary.

Source: LIMRA, 2025 Facts About Life Insurance and Workplace Benefits.

  • 43% of policyholders had no contact with the agent who sold their policy for more than three years.

What I check

  • Your coverage amount compared with what your family would need today
  • What you pay, and whether premiums are scheduled to go up
  • For universal life and IUL policies, an in-force illustration showing whether the policy is on track or at risk of lapsing
  • Your beneficiaries: are the right people named?
  • For term policies, when coverage ends and whether a conversion option expires before then
  • Coverage through work, and what happens to it if you change jobs or retire

What to have ready

  • Your latest policy statement, or the insurance company's name and your policy number
  • For universal life or IUL, an in-force illustration from your insurer (I can help you request one)
  • Your benefits summary for any life insurance you have through work

If a change makes sense

If we find a gap, the fix is often simple: adding coverage, updating a beneficiary, or adjusting what you pay. Replacing a policy is sometimes the right move and sometimes a costly mistake, because a new policy can mean new surrender charges, a new contestability period, and higher rates at an older age. If replacing ever makes sense, Utah rules require a written notice regarding replacement, your current insurance company is notified, and you get a period after the new policy is delivered to return it for a full refund.

Frequently asked questions

Is the review really free?

Yes. There's no fee and no obligation. I'm only paid if you choose to buy a new policy through me.

Will you try to get me to replace my policy?

The goal is to make sure your coverage fits, not to sell you a new policy. If replacing ever makes sense, I'll explain the costs and trade-offs in writing first, as Utah rules require.

What's an in-force illustration?

It's a report from your insurance company that projects how your policy will perform from today forward, based on its actual cash value and the company's current charges and crediting rates. For universal life and IUL policies, it's the clearest way to see whether a policy is at risk of lapsing.

Can you review a policy I have through work?

Yes. Bring your benefits summary. I'll explain how much it pays, whether it follows you if you leave the job, and whether it's enough on its own.
